Frontier Dental Assisting Program, Concord, CA

In today's world, dentistry is a field that is continuously growing. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of dental assistants is expected to grow 19% by 2026, which is much faster than average for all other occupations. This is because recent research shows that your oral health is linked to the quality of your overall health. Therefore, the demand for dental assistants and dental services continues to increase significantly over time.

Dental assistants are paid decent wages and work favorable hours because dental offices usually have standard daily business hours and are closed on holidays and most weekends. If you are responsible, efficient, and you enjoy helping others, then dental assisting may be the right career for you.

Dental assistants support dentists in giving diligent dental care to their patients. Duties and responsibilities of a dental assistant include but are not limited to: preparing the treatment room for patients; preparing patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating them; taking and processing x-rays; polishing teeth; assisting the dentist chair-side with various dental procedures; sterilizing instruments and other equipment used in dental treatments; educating patients on oral hygiene; maintaining dental supplies inventory; and contributing to the team effort given by the entire staff to ensure that competent and satisfactory care was given.

We offer certifications in:

  • Infection Control Course (8 hours)
  • Radiation Safety Certification (32 hours)
  • Coronal Polishing Course (16 hours)
  • Pit and Fissure Sealants Course (16 hours)

All courses are approved by Dental Board of California
